The team began in the spring of 1997 as a Police-Only team playing in the Hanahan Recreation League in South Carolina. The team was originally named "Law & Order." After a disappointing 7-15 first season, we learned very few Police Officers could play softball.
In an attempt to even better the team, we added some more talent for the 1998 spring season. But instead of generating more wins, the team fell on hard times. Injuries and other commitments haunted us throughout. We finished with a 6-10 record.
In 2002, the team went their separate ways. No bad karma. No angry fallout. Just a decision to stop. In May of 2009, the Bandits team reunited (somewhat) to play in a charity tournament to raise money for the South Carolina Special Olympics. The spark returned and the decision to play fall ball was made. Some new faces mixed in with the old (some real old) faces. Only three of the Law & Order Original Members (LOOM) are still playing as Bandits today. However, Clay Cumbee was given LOOM status since he was on the second year Law & Order team. Thus making four LOOMs on the team. Team Totals
